Profile

Innocent Ifelunini, a Professor in the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and Research Fellow/Deputy Director at the Resource & Environmental Policy Research Centre (REPRC-UNN) – Environment for Development Initiatives, Nigeria, obtained his PhD in Development Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is actively engaged in teaching and research in both the Department of Economics and REPRC-UNN. He teaches in the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Professor Ifelunini has consulted on a wide range of issues including human capital development, environment and natural resources, entrepreneurship development, health financing, poverty, inequality, and gender. He has provided consultancy services for several local and international agencies. He has published over 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals and successfully executed more than eight funded research grants.

He is also a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Economic Society, African Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, Poverty and Economic Policy (PEP) Network, Global Development Network, International Development Economics Associates, and the African Economic Research Consortium.
